For the next few blogs I’m going to publish excerpts from my book, ISBN 978-1-941069-09-7 “INSIGHTS: Transforming America — Is this what we fought for?” This book is now out in paperback and on Kindle or Nook. I’ve kept the price low because I want this message to get to as many people as possible. Please pass these blogs on to your friends and contacts. For those of you who have read my book, you needn’t read again the same words but please pass them on. I’ll respond to as many comments and questions as I can. If you’ve had difficulty understanding this president, reading “INSIGHTS” will help you understand Obama and explain what is happening to your family and friends, conservatives or not.
WHAT WE BELIEVE IS UNDER ATTACK
America is a unique nation with a proud heritage.
America is a nation of laws.
While people have different abilities, they are all equal under the law.
We enjoy individual freedoms and liberties that are guaranteed by our Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Through hard work, education, and luck it is very pos sible to move up the social strata.
Our nation, with a few terrible exceptions, has been a force for good throughout its history.
We believe in a free-market system and capitalism that encourages economic growth and individual rewards.
Powers not expressly given to the federal government are reserved for the states.
The philosophy that “the end justifies the means” – no matter how questionable the means are – is alien to most Americans. These core beliefs do not seem to be part of our president’s core beliefs. He would probably, among progressive friends, reject most of them. He has a very different guidance philosophy, the main characteristic of which is that goals and standards are infinitely flexible depending which ones move America toward a progressive “heaven-on-earth” society for all people. Sound familiar? That’s because socialists, communists, and progressives hold this belief in common, along with several other myths. Karl Marx, Lenin, Adolph Hitler, Mao Tse Tung, and myriad European and American utopians shared the belief that with the right leadership, humans can create a heaven-on-earth society, a utopia, where everyone is equal and lives together in perfect harmony within which there is no suffering from a lack of material wants.
It sounds wonderful, doesn’t it? Over the centuries people have tried to build such a utopia. All have failed. But others, like the progressives (a more acceptable name for socialists), are today trying to turn America into such a utopia. With a goal this high they believe anything they do or say is justified as long as the intent is to create a utopian society. To do that, they must first destroy the existing form of government, which is where their philosophy falls apart.
The destruction of an existing society requires that a majority of the people believe their leaders are absolutely right and are willing to replace existing institutions with alternatives (like Obamacare). An enforcement system to ensure people cooperate with the new elite leadership must be established. (Obamacare will use the IRS and the Department of Justice to enforce the transition from free-market capitalism to a socialist-managed economy.) Let’s see what an American revolutionary who had significant impact on Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton had to say about seizing power and transforming an existing democratic governmental system into one directed by a progressive elite.
Saul Alinsky’s book, Rules for Radicals, is a well-presented handbook for revolutionaries of the left to use to take power from the haves and give it to the have-nots. In Alinsky’s world, people do not know what they want. Revolutionaries must appeal to segments of society on issues the people understand from their own everyday experiences. In progressive thought, all issues can be used, but the “issue is never the issue,” so the revolutionaries never get bogged down in issues or problem-solving. This cunning philosophy allows the revolutionary to take any side of any issue at any time, for they are not even trying to solve problems. Their only game is to destroy the existing form of government and seize power. Once power is firmly in the hands of a progressive elite, then, they can begin building a new, transformed society that will be their version of heaven on earth.
